We welcome clinical observers

because we believe that observing treatment makes better practitioners.

4 hours

We treat patients for about 3 hours. If you arrive at 16:30 (half an hour before the clinical session starts) and help pack everything away at the end of the session, we'll sign off 4 clinical observation hours.

£20

We set up Cotswold Community Acupuncture to make acupuncture economically accessible to as many people as possible. To help keep our prices low, we charge our clinical observers £20 per session.

!

We can accept a maximum of 2 observers per session. Snaffle your spot before anyone else does by booking obs' online. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Student acupuncturists

During your visit, we will be happy to discuss each case with you, including Chinese medical diagnosis, treatment principles, point selection and needle technique.

If patients are happy for you to do so, you will be able to take pulses, look at tongues, examine joints, and so on.

Student observers from other disciplines

We also welcome student observers from disciplines other than acupuncture.

If our patients are happy for you to examine them, we are happy for you to do so.

As we are a traditional acupuncture-only clinic, we regret that you will not be able to treat or advise our patients.

Two important things

Firstly, to be an observer you must be enrolled on an accredited course of professional study. We will ask for details of your course and college when you book.

Secondly, observing treatment in our clinic is not a substitute for formal acupuncture or dry needling training. We ask that you don’t try to replicate what you observe without the relevant formal instruction.
